Alliance welcomes new salt boxes

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 6th Jan 2003

Alliance Councillors Michael Long and Sara Duncan have expressed their delight that the Roads Service is to install new salt boxes at Marlborough Heights and Glenview Crescent after a request made by the Castlereagh representatives.

Cllr Long said, "I am pleased that Roads Service is to provide boxes at these locations as we enter the coldest part of the winter. This will improve road safety at these sites and make it easier for local people to get in and out of their streets during cold spells."

Cllr. Duncan continued, "I am particularly pleased to see that the old salt box, which was very unsightly, is to be replaced at Marlborough Heights."
