Alliance leader calls for round table meeting12.00.00am GMT Thu 30th Jan 2003 David Ford MLA, Alliance Leader, has welcomed the announcement of meetings with the British and Irish prime ministers on February 12. But he added: "If these meetings are going to be any value, we simply have to get away from hidden side deals being made with individual parties." "For that reason, I would call for the Prime Minister and Taoiseach to co-chair a round table meeting the following day at Hillsborough to allow everyone to take stock of the process so far." "We need to ensure that there is transparency and openness, as experience shows how secret deals tend to precipitate a crisis." Ends
