Attack came close to tragedy: Neeson

12.00.00am GMT Tue 18th Feb 2003

East Antrim Assembly member Sean Neeson has claimed that last night's petrol bomb attack in Larne came very close to costing lives.

Mr Neeson said: "I utterly condemn this blatantly sectarian attack on this family, which could have caused loss of life. I have had discussions with the local police, who like me, had hoped this sort of attack was a thing of the past."

"Once again, the name of Larne has been tarnished by mindless gangsters and I would appeal to the community at large to assist the police in bringing to justice those responsible for this callous attack."
