McCarthy hits out at graffiti

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 3rd Apr 2003

I welcome Nigel Dodds recent conversion to the removal of offensive graffiti in North Belfast (Belfast Telegraph, April 3).

Mr Dodds was right to request that the authorities remove sick slogans that wish harm on RIR soldiers serving in Iraq.

"However, I would ask for a commitment from Mr Dodds that if he is ever restored to his former Ministry that will he ensure that all offensive graffiti is removed from his constituency. Such enthusiasm must not be allowed to be seen as selective or go to waste."
