Pipe bomb attack condemned: Dunlop

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 17th May 2004

ALLIANCE'S North Antrim representative Jayne Dunlop has condemned a pipe bomb attack on a Sinn Féin member in Ballymena.

Ms Dunlop said: "This kind of intimidation never achieves anything. We are supposed to be moving away from violence, not going back to the past. All paramilitary groups must give up the use of weapons.

"We need to be moving forward, using democratic methods alone to pursue our objectives. Pipe bomb attacks are contemptible and show the lack of any political ideas from those behind them."
